Minuteman Health announces hire of chief medical officer

BOSTON (March 7, 2014) – Minuteman Health Inc. today announced that Dr. Jan Cook has joined the company as its chief medical officer. Dr. Cook is a board-certified internist with a master’s degree in public health from the Harvard School of Public Health. Prior to Minuteman, she worked as a medical director at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. In that capacity she had roles in clinical management, pharmacy management, quality, network management and provider contracting. Dr. Cook has practiced as a hospitalist and a primary care physician. She has been the medical director of a multidisciplinary group in the Boston area. Her professional interests are primary care medicine, mind/body medicine and the cost-effective delivery of health care services in integrated delivery systems. Dr. Cook spent the early years of her life in the Midwest. She attended Southern Illinois University and Washington University receiving Bachelor of Arts in psychology and in biology respectively. She went to medical school at the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. She completed an internal medicine residency at Barnes Hospital at Washington University.
