Minuteman rolls out four new small group plans and higher broker commissions in Massachusetts

BOSTON 4/22/2015 – Minuteman Health (www.minutemanhealth.org) today announced it is offering four new health care plans to the Massachusetts small business market.

The four Gold-tier plans include child dental coverage and feature deductibles ranging from $1,000 to $2,050. The intent is to provide additional flexibility to small businesses offering health insurance for the first time or switching from competing plans, said Patrick O’Brien, director of employer and broker relations for Minuteman.

“In our meetings with small business owners and brokers in Massachusetts they made clear their desire for a broader range of coverage options. These new plans are a result of us listening to their concerns,” O’Brien said. “Minuteman’s competitive rates and growing provider network make us a very attractive choice for small business owners who are offering health coverage for the first time or are searching for better coverage options for their employees.”

Also, Minuteman announced an increase in commissions paid to brokers who enroll individuals or groups in Massachusetts Minuteman health plans. Brokers will receive $20 per subscriber per month for individuals and groups up to 9, and three percent of premiums received for groups of 10 or more.
