Deborah Gifford Casey Elected to Minuteman Health Board of Directors

BOSTON 3/9/2015 – Minuteman Health (www.minutemanhealth.org) today announced that Deborah Gifford Casey has become the first policy holder elected to the plan’s board of directors.

Casey, a Massachusetts health care attorney and health care executive, will hold full voting power and will help determine the strategic direction and operating functions of the plan.

“I am honored to have been elected as the first member of Minuteman Health to serve on its board. This is an exciting time for healthcare in Massachusetts and New Hampshire with Minuteman’s entry into the market. By providing policyholders the opportunity to have a real voice in strategy and operations, together with its transparency, the Minuteman members will be well served. I am proud to be a part of this new venture and will work hard to represent my fellow members’ interests”, says Casey.

Casey has 20 years of legal, transactional and business experience within the dialysis industry. She was the Vice President of Business Development at American Renal Associates, where she developed growth opportunities for the organization and assisted with physician joint venture negotiations. Prior to American Renal, Casey was the Vice President of Physician Strategies at Fresenius Medical Care, where she worked on healthcare transactions and provider contracting efforts. She is currently a member of the firm of Outside GC where she focuses primarily on health care issues.

Casey is a graduate of St. Lawrence University, and earned her J.D. at Suffolk University.

Minuteman CEO Tom Policelli said Casey will bring valuable perspective to the board as a health care professional and as a Minuteman member.“Deborah’s viewpoint from the professional side and the membership side will be very helpful as we continue to grow our member base and provider networks in Massachusetts and New Hampshire,” Policelli said.
